Maximizing Degrees of Freedom in Wireless Networks

چکیده
We consider a wireless network with fading and a single source-destination pair. The information reaches the destination through a sequence of layers of relays. A nonseparation based strategy is proposed which achieves a rate equal to the capacity of a point-to-point multiantenna system [1, 2], in the high SNR limit. Our result can also be thought of as an extension of [1, 2] for wireless networks. Later we derive formulas for the tradeoffs between network size, rate, and diversity.

Degrees of Freedom in Wireless Networks
This paper did a survey in the area of degrees of freedom (DoF) in wireless network. We give the definitions of degrees of freedom in different areas first. Then we introduce some methods used to determine the degrees of freedom in different scenario. In section IV, we discuss the applications of the degrees of freedom. We state some interesting open questions in the end of this survey.

Transmission opportunity limit and contention window are two influenced parameters in accessing the media in the networks based IEEE 802.11e standard. In these networks, every wireless station by setting of its contention window value, determines the chance of access to wireless media. Furthermore, a transmission opportunity limit provides a period of transmission without contact for a station....

We explore the degrees of freedom of M ×N user wireless X networks, i.e. networks of M transmitters and N receivers where every transmitter has an independent message for every receiver. We derive a general outerbound on the degrees of freedom region of these networks. When all nodes have a single antenna and all channel coefficients vary in time or frequency, we show that the total number of d...

Recent years have seen a dramatic increase in the wireless data traffic, caused by the success of online media streaming services and the proliferation of smart phones, tablets, and netbooks. Given the scarcity of wireless spectrum, the only way to meet this ever increasing demand is to exploit a much denser spatial reuse of the spectrum through the utilization of userdeployed and user-operated...

Resource management in wireless networks is one of the key factors in maximizing the overall throughput. Contrary to popular belief, dividing the resources in a dense network does not yield the best results. A method that has been developed recently shares the spectrum amongst all the users in such a way that each node can potentially utilize about half of all the available resources. This new ...
